Got questions? We've got answers.

Do I need to pre-register for class? Most of the time, no, just check the class schedule and show up.  For special classes, such as Artist-in-Residence and workshops, it's recommended that you pre-register so you are guaranteed a spot.

What should I wear to class? Something comfortable that you can exercise in.  A hip sash is recommended for the belly dancing classes, and a flamenco skirt for the flamenco classes.  You may also want to wear dance shoes.  If you have any questions, talk with your teacher.  We do ask that the men taking class wear suitable shirts (tank top, t-shirts, etc.).

How many times a week do you have beginning belly dance? We offer 9 beginner belly dance classes during the week.

When can I start a beginner class? Any time.  You can also start any of the other levels of belly dancing classes at any time.

How long can I stay in a beginner class? Beginner classes are based on a 6-week series of classes where you learn the basics of belly dancing. You can stay in a beginner class as long as you like, but at some point, your teacher may suggest that you move up to the next level.

What about make-up classes if I can't make it to the class I usually take or what if I need to switch to another night? If you have signed up through LLU, you can take any of the other beginner belly dancing classes during the week.  If you are an SOS member and pay by the class, you can attend any belly dancing class that fits your schedule.

What is the cost of a belly dance class? The price can range from $17 for a walk-in regular 1-hour class or as low as $10 if you buy a Platinum package.  Check out the Rates page for more information on belly dancing class rates and other class rates.

Do you offer private lessons? Yes, in belly dance, flamenco, Polynesian, salsa, samba, tango, and Bollywood.  Just call the studio to schedule an appointment.

What about birthday parties? We offer children's birthday parties with a belly dance, hula, salsa, or Bollywood theme.

Do I really need to learn how to play zills?  No, you don't, but playing zills is part of belly dancing and can be quite rewarding.
